To be admitted to the Bachelor’s in Physiotherapy program, the candidate must hold one of the following diplomas:
- Level 5 MQF Diploma: “Diploma di Esame di Stato/Maturità” (Italian system)
- Diploma or Certificate of the first cycle
- Higher education certificate or equivalent international qualification (e.g., “CESS” – Belgian system)
- Baccalauréat (French system)
- Federal Diploma (Swiss system)
Additionally, the candidate must have passed the admission test.
ADMISSION EXAM FEE
- To be paid, only for the first year of the course, at the time of registration for the admission exam (in accordance with the provisions of the admission request)
CHF 250 (two hundred fifty Swiss francs)
ENROLLMENT FEE
- Fees for sending and recording documents, to be paid at the time of registration, or within 10 days following the date of the test in which you participated
CHF 500 (five hundred Swiss francs)
- Administrative fees for enrollment in the course, to be paid at the time of registration, or within 10 days following the date of the test in which you participated
CHF 1,600 (one thousand six hundred Swiss francs)
ANNUAL TUITION FEE
- To be paid each year, for the entire duration of the course, to be enrolled for the academic year (in accordance with the provisions of the admission request)
CHF 12,000 (twelve thousand Swiss francs)
The amount can be paid in 2 semester installments as follows:
– CHF 6,000 (six thousand Swiss francs) at the time of registration, or within 10 days following the date of the test in which you participated.
– CHF 6,000 (six thousand Swiss francs) before February 15, 2024.
The amounts of the semester installments for the following years remain unchanged and must be paid before August 15 and February 15 of each year.
FINAL EXAM FEES
- CHF 5,250 (five thousand two hundred fifty Swiss francs) exam registration fee for the final exam, to be paid at least 30 days before the date set for the practical final exam. Students who have not passed the final exams or part of them are required to re-enroll in the following session, subject to payment of half of the exam fees, i.e., CHF 2,625 (CHF 5,250: 2).
- CHF 1,800 (one thousand eight hundred Swiss francs) end-of-cycle fee, to be paid before receiving the final diploma.
Semmelweis is a Hungarian state institution, founded in 1769, based in Budapest, specializing in the field of medicine and health sciences.
The title “Bachelor in Physiotherapy,” issued by Semmelweis, is a European title and is recognized in all countries of the European Union, in accordance with Directive 2005/36/EC.
It is important to specify that, for recognition purposes, each country may, at its discretion, require additional internship, supplementary exam, or other requirements.
In addition, the graduate has the option to initiate the procedure for obtaining the European Professional Card (EPC), provided for by Directive EU 55/2013 (Article 55 bis of Legislative Decree 206/2007).

To obtain authorization to practice the profession in Switzerland, the graduate must submit an application to the Swiss Red Cross (CRS) in Bern. Once the graduation diploma is recognized by the CRS, the graduate can work as an employee; for independent work, it is necessary to comply with specific cantonal laws. In Cantone Ticino, per esempio, occorre chiedere l’autorizzazione all’esercizio della professione di fisioterapista all’Ufficio della Sanità a Bellinzona. For example, in the canton of Ticino, it is necessary to apply for authorization to practice as a physiotherapist at the Office of Health in Bellinzona.
